Couldn't think of a title...
...but this is a temporary structure our local Durga Puja committee creates every year - a replica of some interesting, usually religious architectural structure. This one resembles a mutt/math (sort of like a monastery, associated with a certain Order of monks)

Endearing Goddess
This handmade painting of Goddess Durga that I saw at my local Durga Puja pandal lacks the usual ferocity or passion that most images of the Goddess have - instead it has a certain simplicity - perhaps to simplify the myth and its significance to the generation fed on Cartoon Network and Lays chips - a generation that is just six or seven years younger than mine, and yet seems so alien.
The two photographs following this one are similar images of Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva. The trinity symbolise feminine power, prosperity and masculine power.

Well, I know it's been a LONG time, to say the least....I managed to get back to photography this festive season, though not as much as before. Here's a collection of pictures taken this time, as well as some taken last time that I neglected.
